I am a concerned student from Olathe, KS. Recently, I discovered that there are plans to establish a Satan worship/ Satan Templist Club at Olathe Northwest Highschool. This deeply troubles me and many others in our community as we believe that schools should be places of education and growth, not platforms for satanic indoctrination or controversial practices.You see the idea behind Christianity is that you are a sinner in need of a savior, because of that sin you have a consequence which is death in hell. However Christ died on the cross to justify those you believe in him so they now have a ticket and deliverance from hell to heaven. The belief in Christianity does not call for hate or persecution against those who do not believe in him but love for those who don’t. This is contrary to the idea of satanism, this idea is a religion that worships Satan at the cost of anyone or anything. Satanism has a strong history of persecution and violence towards the church and those who believe in God. Whether you believe in God, are a Christian, Catholic, Mormon, Hindu, Buddhist or even atheist you should see that ending this club is not just because it opposes Christianity but because what they stand for and the actions they will make are wrong and immoral. This isn’t an argument over religion and Christianity but of right and wrong.We urge the relevant authorities in Olathe, KS - school administrators, district officials and local representatives - to reconsider this decision. We believe it is not in the best interest of our children or community. Kathy L. Rumer, D.O. is a plastic surgeon who practices out of Ardmore, PA who routinely practices gender affirming surgery from questionable to downright horrific results. Recently it has come to light that Rumer has been employing a right-wing legal firm (Rogers Castor) to intimidate her own patients into silence. Most of her patients including the defendants in an ongoing case are low income and do not possess the resources to defend themselves. Implement a 3-Way Traffic Light at Dowerhouse Road & Fallard Court Intersection

As members of the Chesapeake Math & Information Technology (CMIT South) community, we are deeply concerned about the safety of over 1,500 students, faculty and staff who use the intersection of Dowerhouse Road and Fallard Court in Upper Marlboro. The lack of traffic control at this intersection has already resulted in several accidents. Furthermore, drivers frequently make left turns onto Dowerhouse Road from the far right hand lane on Fallard Court, adding to the risk.The danger is especially acute during school hours from 7:30-9am and 2-4pm Monday-Friday when there is a high volume of traffic (CMIT South Elementary, Middle & High Schools dropoff/pickups times).Prince George's County Dept of Public Works & Transportation confimed the traffic light and pavement striping is approved for "the future" but at this time, no definite timeline could be provided.Prince George's County must take immediate action to address this serious safety issue by installing a three-way traffic light at this intersection by September 2024.We urge you to prioritize our children's safety over convenience.Please sign this petition to support our call for improved road safety measures in Upper Marlboro.

When Governor Youngkin announced in October 2022, that his Energy Plan for SWVA was to include nuclear reactors, it caught residents, environmental organizations and journalists by surprise. Small Modular (Nuclear) Reactors - SMRs - are being promoted as an alternative to large nuclear reactors while downplaying renewable energies such as solar and wind power.SMR technology remains unproven and the Governor admits his "moonshot" will take 10 years, or 20 years based on a recent study by LENOWISCO.Only one SMR design has been approved by the U.S. government.Many competing companies are seeking their own designs, including the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA).Nuclear energy is one of the most expensive ways to produce electricity and is not competitive with renewable energy sources such as solar and wind.Millions of state and federal dollars are being diverted to this scheme. Initial SMR legislation was passed in the 2023 General Assembly, with more coming in the 2024 legislative session.Critical input from residents of Southwest Virginia has not been sought throughout this process as officials advance plans to build nuclear reactors in our communities.The LENOWISCO Planning District has identified seven potential locations for SMRs in Lee, Scott, Wise and Dickenson counties and the city of Norton. The Education Academy at CTEC offers a two-year, hands-on program for 11th and 12th graders aspiring to careers in education and related fields, ranging from child care to higher education. A key component of this program has been the Little Dreamers Preschool, where for over 40 years, students have gained practical experience by developing and implementing lesson plans for preschoolers. As students engage with 3- and 4-year-olds, they gain skills applicable across all educational levels, earning credentials like the CDA, Teaching Assistant Certification, and college credits.The Capital Project, awarded to OUBOCES, was intended for enhancing the facilities and programs with substantial funding. However, with the onset of construction, there's a significant shift in the use of space, leading to the rearrangement of classrooms and programs. This reorganization unfortunately leaves no allocated space for the Little Dreamers Preschool, currently adjoining the Education Academy's classroom. The proposed plan is to completely close down the little dreamers preschool program and move the high school class into the Special Education building. This means it will possibly be merging with existing Special Ed classrooms, rather than maintaining its unique, onsite presence as a preschool program for high school students to gain their hands on experience with preschool students daily.This change poses several issues. Firstly, high school students in the program may lose the chance to earn their Child Development Associate (CDA) credential upon graduation. Furthermore, many students enrolled in the Education Academy have career aspirations beyond special education. Restricting their practical experience to only special education settings limits their exposure and learning opportunities in a broader educational context and they would not have the daily hands-on approach they currently have. It's also crucial for the high school students to share a common building with their peers, fostering a sense of community and belonging.We petition to retain this integral component of the Education Academy. The program’s success, evidenced by annual waitlists and positive community feedback, underscores its value. Little Dreamers not only benefits high school students but also prepares preschoolers for kindergarten, strengthening our community.We urge OUBOCES decision-makers to reconsider this decision. Demand justice for 11 year old Audrii Cunningham, a murdered child for whom an Amber Alert was issued on February 15, 2024 and her remains were found February 20, 2024.The Texas Department of Public Safety has officially charged Don Steve McDougal for Capital Murder. McDougal is currently being held in the Polk County Jail in Texas and has been denied bond.Say her name……. Audrii Cunningham. Our judicial system allowed Predators to roam free while victims pay the price.It has come to light that McDougal was previously charged with attempted indecency with a child/enhanced while on parole in 2007. His atrocious acts during this crime involved him climbing in a minors bed and pulling down the child’s pants and panties. He admittedly confirmed his acts were for his own sexual gratification.McDougal was given a sweetheart deal and was allowed to plead no contest to the lesser charge of "enticing a child."This plea deal has raised serious concerns as the offense of “enticing a child” is commonly used for custodial disputes and is typically not sexual in nature. The crime committed doesn’t not represent the crime McDougal was convicted of.By allowing McDougal to plead to this lesser charge, he avoided being required to register as a sex offender and faced a significantly reduced sentence 2 years compared to the original charge which could have had McDougal receiving a 20 year sentence. This was a major miscarriage of justice to the minor he sexually assaulted in 2007 and Audrii Cunningham.This loophole allows individuals who have committed sex crimes against children to evade the consequences and continue to pose a threat to children in the community.We believe that individuals who have been charged with “Attempted Indecency with a child” has demonstrated predatory behavior and pose a significant risk to the safety and well-being of children.It is imperative that these individuals be held accountable for their actions and be required to register as sex offenders for the rest of their lives to ensure that they are monitored.We respectfully urge you to review and update the criteria for which a defendant may plead to a lesser charge of “enticing a minor” in the state of Texas. The current criteria does not adequately protect children from potential harm and exploitation and downplays the severity of the crime.Current law: Sec. 25.04. ENTICING A CHILD. (a) A person commits an offense if, with the intent to interfere with the lawful custody of a child younger than 18 years, he knowingly entices, persuades, or takes the child from the custody of the parent or guardian or person standing in the stead of the parent or guardian of such child. (b) An offense under this section is a Class B misdemeanor, unless it is shown on the trial of the offense that the actor intended to commit a felony against the child, in which event an offense under this section is a felony of the third degree. The insidious nature of abuse thrives in environments where reporting is actively discouraged, perpetuating cycles of trauma and suffering for vulnerable children.Therefore, for the safety of all children:-Erin’s Law should be expanded to cover private, parochial, religious, and home schools in all fifty states.-Ensure that unlicensed teachers in private and religious schools undergo mandated reporter training.-Mandate mandated reporter training for homeschool teachers and incorporate Erin's Law into the curriculum.While religious freedom is essential, it does not supersede the duty to protect children and cannot be used to shield abusers. Age-appropriate materials that do not violate basic religious principles can be provided.Enforcement is problematic as these are private institutions, but they can be enacted. It can be enforced through one or more of these measures. 1) Make school administrators, staff, educators, board members, and homeschool parents who do not comply civilly and/or criminally accountable for repeated abuse. 2) Make compliance a condition to be eligible to use vouchers or receive other public grants. 3) Only recognize diplomas from a compliant school or homeschool. Without compliance, the diploma should not be valid as an educational certificate requiring a GED. 4) This should be a requirement for the granting and maintaining tax-exempt status. Medical officials feel like testing for this disease should not occur until you are 50, yes they have lowered the age to 45 in most places, but for the majority of us, 45 is too late. Many African American people are battling this same disease. Studies show That African American people are 20% more likely to get Colon Cancer and another 40% are likely to die from it. Demand Public Meeting on Future of US Brig Niagara! PHMC Dissolves Contract - No Plans

After three years of bullying and a series of behaviors that suggest malicious intent, the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) dissolved its relationship with a group who has successfully maintained the US Brig Niagara since 1981. The PHMC has no experience in maritime affairs and they appear to have no clear plans for how they will maintain the vessel moving forward.We demand a public meeting in early January 2024, with the leadership of PHMC and the legislators of Northwestern PA, to hear about PHMC's plans for this important piece of local and American living history.The US Brig Niagara is the warship that turned the tide in America's favor during the War of 1812, and her "Don't Give Up the Ship" flag is an important emblem for the US Navy. The PHMC owns the US Brig Niagara and runs the Erie Maritime Museum (EMM) where she is docked. Through a long contractual relationship, the Flagship Niagara League (FNL) has cared for, supported, and sailed the US Brig Niagara since 1981. FNL has been internationally awarded for its sail training programs. It brings the ship to ports across the Great Lakes where thousands of people are exposed to her living history each port day. The visitor counts during individual port visits are comparable to the number of annual visitors at the Erie Maritime Museum.In 2009 the PHMC tried to end the entire Niagara program and the local community fought back to retain this important cultural and economic driver for our region, resulting in a new 10-year agreement. Three years ago that 10-year agreement expired and at the same time the previous EMM Site Administrator (and former Niagara Captain), Walter Rybka, retired. For the three years since then, the PHMC has bullied FNL staff, delayed maintenance and program decisions to the point business operations and ship maintenance becomes grueling and tenuous, and consistently refused contract negotiations. Now the PHMC has suddenly dissolved their relationship with the 40+ year old organization with no obvious plans or capacity to care for the ship themselves.In Jan 2022, seven legislators from Northwestern PA sent a letter to PHMC leadership requesting they attend a public forum in Erie on these issues. PHMC inaccurately suggested they were on the verge of a signed contract to avoid the forum, but it actually took them six months, and the temporary agreement only covered the six months left in the year. On top of that, the PHMC currently owes the Flagship Niagara League close to a half a million dollars in unpaid bills. We demand more integrity and transparency than this from our government agencies.We demand to have the public forum the state legislators requested two years ago.We demand to know how our ship will be cared for.We demand to know how our tax dollars are being used to maintain our shared cultural heritage.The PA Consolidated Statues state that the PHMC shall "sail the United States Brig Niagara, within the means at its command, to various ports of call and commemorative events as the official sailing ambassador for Pennsylvania (3) Charge whatever fees are necessary to maintain the vessel and to encourage private financial support as appropriate in order to support the United States Brig Niagara and its sailing program."By signing this petition, the citizens of Erie County and Northwestern PA demand a public hearing, in early January 2024, with the leadership of the PHMC and the legislators of Northwestern PA.Support from those outside of Northwestern PA is welcome, as the US Brig Niagara is part of America's historical heritage and holds meaning in the hearts of many Americans.

The proposed 112.22 acre neighborhood is requesting 2 residential dwellings per acre but the land is currently zoned Agricultural/Hillside Protection/Stream Protection. The change in zoning would not meet the Knox County Zoning Ordinance 6.30.01. These conditions are mandatory and all must be met. However, the Planning Commission often ignores these requirements, regardless of the evidence presented. The standards state that the following conditions should be met for any text or map amendments to be made.A. The proposed amendment shall be necessary because of substantially changed or changing conditions in the area and zones affected, or in the county generally.B. The proposed amendment shall be consistent with the intent and purposes of this resolution.C. The proposed amendment shall not adversely affect any other part of the county nor shall any direct or indirect adverse effects result from such an amendment.D. The intent behind this petition is to give a voice to the residents of City of Smyrna and surrounding areas whose health and quality of life are negatively impacted by the loud freight trains that are moving through our quiet residential areas at high speeds.The extremely high-pitched screeching emanating from the trains reach high decibel measurements of over 70, often times approaching 100, during both daytime and evening hours. This noise pollution is not only disturbing our peace but also potentially impacting our health. According to the World Health Organization, exposure to excessive noise can lead to stress-related illnesses, poor concentration and productivity loss, and at worst permanent hearing loss (WHO). For the children growing up in our community, this repeated exposure may affect development-critical skills like speech, language, reading, listening, and capacity to learn (United States Environmental Protection Agency). And beyond these harmful impacts to our health, local residents are also enduring staggering vibrations which pose a risk to the integrity and stability of our homes, as well as a heightened fear of potential accidents.One of the causes of the increase in noise, speed, and frequency of the trains is believed to be the 2017 implementation of “precision scheduling,” along with a lack of proper maintenance which declined during COVID with the rollback of key freight regulations. The practice of precision scheduling requires less maintenance by train companies and allows for heavier, faster, and longer freight trains. This needs to change, particularly given recent derailments, such as Norfolk Southern in E. Palestine, Ohio on February 3rd, 2023. The CSX trains that run through Smyrna, Georgia and surrounding areas are carrying the same toxic materials that devastated the E. Palestine community.We need immediate action from our local representatives to get involved and proactively work with federal authorities, and CSX Corporation, to investigate and implement effective measures that will reduce the environmental risk for our beautiful community and all who live in it.Let's stand together for a healthier and more peaceful Smyrna!

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DONATE TO SIGNAs a resident of On Top of the World Central, Ocala, FL, I am deeply concerned about the recent decision to rezone our area for apartment construction. This decision directly impacts my fellow senior citizens living in the On Top of the World community. When we purchased our homes, we were assured that this area was zoned commercial - a fact that was welcomed by us all as this area needs goods and services.The advent of apartments will necessitate the building of a security wall between OTOW and the apartments and enhanced security at our gate nearby, raising assessments to senior citizens who are already on a fixed income and being burdened by inflationary increases in monthly assessments. This is simply unaffordable for us. In addition, the senior residents, some of our oldest and with health issues, are fearful of the lack of security the "buffer" affords as well as the increased noise. They feel this will affect their health and well being.Furthermore, there are serious environmental concerns associated with this rezoning. The removal of retention ponds to make way for apartments will likely lead to increased flooding which already occurs at the entrance of On Top of the World community due to runoff, especially during heavy downpours. This not only poses a threat to our common area properties and assessments, but also makes it difficult for senior residents like myself who may have mobility issues or get caught in flood waters or be unable to leave during a weather or medical emergency.The proposed rezoning will result in major traffic delays and congestion in an already congested area. Currently, it sometimes takes 2-3 light changes to get out of the community. In addition the crossroads created by the apartment entrance will greatly impact our ingress and egress. The impact on senior citizens like us would be significant as it would make it harder for us to carry out daily activities and access essential services. The residents are very active at the time that the apartment families will be leaving for work, children going to school, the introduction of school busses and bus stops, at a time when most residents are going to medical appointments for care. This would be a major impact on the resident's quality of life. Also, as per the MCSO, the sheriff's department isn't equipped to handle the current traffic much less the addition of 300+ families. RT 200 is a very dangerous highway for children to be playing by and having access to.In addition, the change would remove the opportunity for the senior residents to have access to new retail and services that should build and occupy the space. Many residents rely upon golf carts to get to the businesses around the entrance and this would severely reduce the future opportunity for convenient access for our elderly residents.Marion County also does not have the budget to support development and tax increases will further impact Seniors on a fixed income.We urge local authorities to reconsider this decision taking into account its potential impact on traffic congestion, environmental sustainability and most importantly on the lives of senior citizens who call On Top Of The World Ocala home.Please sign this petition if you believe that our voices should be heard and considered before such impactful decisions are made. In August of 2022, a Villa Resident of our Christian nonprofit personal care home came forward and shared a story of sexual abuse by one of our employees.To learn this employee, who was loved, trusted, and respected, was sexually abusing some of our residents was devastating. He worked for us for a very long time. He was a caretaker of a very vulnerable group of men who either experienced intellectual disabilities or persistent and complicated mental illness and other medical conditions. When hired, he came with excellent references, a clean background check, and was just an overall loveable guy.Our sweet residents enjoying lunch with a crown 2024Our Villa 2024 - A Promise from God covers the home.It was our leadership who sought the truth by interviewing every resident (without leading or seeding) that 13 more stories of abuse were discovered, which resulted in this man being sentenced to 13 years in state prison this week.But the loss of funding and ability to raise funds during the crisis threaten to shut us down and ultimately punish the victims.The Villa is their home.The Villa is home to 74 residents in Lancaster County, PA., and it is more than just a facility; it's a community where our residents have built their lives and found their families. The threat of closure, would displace all our beloved residents to who knows where, is real.Faith Friendship Villa has served the community for 22 years, providing quality care for individuals who are afflicted with persistent and complicated mental illness, among other disabling medical conditions.We foster deep relationships among residents in a family setting. We had no idea this was happening. Though we know some won't believe us, this message is for those who will.The potential closure of this institution not only threatens the well-being of our current residents but destroys the stability, progress, and sense of family they've found here.Her precious smile says it all. She is home with family who love her.We are taking steps to prevent this from ever happening again. Our staff have been riddled with guilt and shame, wondering how we missed a predator among us. We know that sexual predators groom their peers to trust them and their victims to fear them. This case is no different.According to data from AgingInPlace.org, moving vulnerable or elderly people can cause "transfer trauma," leading to increased stress levels and health complications. We believe it's worse for those who also are afflicted with severe mental illness.Please Help! We cannot allow this to happen to our residents who consider Faith Friendship Villa their home. They did not do anything wrong. 12 of the 14 victims still live at the Villa. In reality, everyone who works and lives at the Villa is victimized by this predator's actions, and nobody wants to leave.
