An injury concern has emerged for Manchester United, with manager Ruben Amorim expressing his worries about striker Benjamin Sesko's knee injury. This comes after a dramatic 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur, where a last-minute header from Matthijs de Ligt secured a point for the Reds.
Sesko, who had a great opportunity to put United ahead, was challenged just before shooting, and soon after, he went down injured. With all substitutions already made, United had to continue with a player down.
In his post-match press conference, Amorim addressed the injury, stating, "His recent form is not the primary concern right now. I'm worried about the knee injury, and we need to assess it further."
But here's where it gets controversial: Sesko wasn't the only one injured. Both Harry Maguire and Casemiro also left the pitch with injury concerns, and were substituted in the 72nd minute. Amorim acknowledged the impact of these injuries, saying, "When you have to take out key players like Maguire and Casemiro, and then concede two goals, it's a tough situation."
However, the November international break provides an opportunity for these players to recover. United's next game is scheduled for November 24th, when they host Everton at Old Trafford.
In an interview, Amorim emphasized the need for the team to be more clinical in front of goal, while also providing an update on Sesko's condition. De Ligt also admitted to having "mixed" feelings about the draw, reflecting on the contrasting emotions of the match.
