Warm, less humid for Tuesday with severe weather in forecast for Maryland

NOW, LET’S BRING IN 11 NEWS METEOROLOGIST TONY PANTONI. THANKFULLY, WE’RE NOT DEALING WITH ANY FLOODING, BUT WE CAN SEE SOME SEVERE STORMS THIS WEEK. AND DO WE NEED THE RAIN, IT SEEMS LIKE. YEAH, WE DO NEED THE RAIN. YOU KNOW, IT’S TYPICAL FOR ONE PART OF THE COUNTRY TO GET SOME KIND OF EXTREME WEATHER AND THE OTHER SIDE THE, THE OPPOSITE. WELL, IT’S BEEN REALLY DRY AROUND HERE, ALMOST TO THE POINT WHERE IN DROUGHT CONDITIONS. BUT YEAH, WE COULD USE SOME RAIN BUT DO WITHOUT THE SEVERE WEATHER. RIGHT NOW IT’S PRETTY NICE. IT’S 88 DEGREES AT BWI MARSHALL. NOTICE THE RELATIVE HUMIDITY 24%. NOW YOU PUT THAT TOGETHER. AND USUALLY WE CREATE A HEAT INDEX THAT’S HIGHER THAN THE ACTUAL TEMPERATURE. LOOK WHAT HAPPENS NOW. IT FEELS LIKE IT’S 85 BECAUSE OF THE DRY AIR. IT ACTUALLY FEELS COOLER THAN IT ACTUALLY IS. THAT HARDLY EVER HAPPENS HERE IN THE MID-ATLANTIC IN THE SUMMER. SO ENJOY THIS NICE AIR MASS WHILE IT’S HERE THAT’S GOING TO CHANGE TOMORROW. THE HUMIDITY IS GOING TO GO UP, AND WITH THAT, THE CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS WILL GO UP AS WELL. IT’S 87 IN ANNAPOLIS. IT’S 84. IN WESTMINSTER, IT’S 85 IN EDGEWOOD AT THE TOP OF THE HOUR, THE TEMPERATURES WILL TOP OUT IN THE UPPER 80S AND LOW 90S THIS AFTERNOON. THAT’S JUST A LITTLE BIT ABOVE NORMAL FOR THIS TIME OF THE YEAR. THE NORMAL HIGH IS 87. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MOVING ACROSS PARTS OF THE MIDWEST RIGHT NOW. INDIANA, OHIO GETTING HIT PRETTY HARD IN THAT SYSTEM WILL BRING US A CHANCE FOR SOME STRONG THUNDERSTORMS TOMORROW. AS A MATTER OF FACT, THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS US IN THE RISK AREA FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF STRONG WINDS, HAIL, AND HEAVY RAIN EVERYWHERE IN THE YELLOW SHADING HERE HAS THAT RISK FOR TOMORROW. LOOKS LIKE THE BEST CHANCE WOULD BE LATE IN THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING. SO IF YOU HAVE OUTDOOR PLANS DURING THE DAY TOMORROW, BEST TO DO IT IN THE MORNING, IT LOOKS LIKE. LET’S TAKE A LOOK AT OUR FUTURE CAST. WE’LL START THE TIME FRAME AT 5 A.M. THE TEMPERATURES WON’T BE NEARLY AS COOL AS THIS MORNING. IF YOU WERE UP EARLY THIS MORNING, SOME SPOTS WERE IN THE 50S. TOMORROW IT’LL BE IN THE UPPER 60S AND LOW 70S, AND IN THE HEAT AND HUMIDITY OF THE AFTERNOON, WITH TEMPERATURES SOARING INTO THE MID TO UPPER 90S, SOME SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS GOING TO DEVELOP AFTER 2:00. LOOKS LIKE THE BEST CHANCE FOR HEAVY STORMS OR STRONG ONES WILL BE IN THE EVENING SOMETIME AFTER 7 P.M. BETWEEN 7 P.M. AND 11 P.M., SO KEEP THAT IN MIND FOR TOMORROW EVENING’S COMMUTE. MOSTLY SUNNY THIS AFTERNOON. WARM BUT NOT HUMID. THE HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE BETWEEN 88 AND 93. THE FORECAST FOR TONIGHT CLEAR TO PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES. IT’LL BE WARM AND STARTING TO TURN A LITTLE MORE HUMID. THE TEMPERATURES DROP BACK INTO THE UPPER 60S AND LOW 70S. SUNSET IS AT 837, SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE LIKELY LATE IN THE DAY TOMORROW AND TOMORROW EVENING. AND AGAIN, SOME OF THOSE WILL BE STRONG. THE HIGH TEMPERATURE 96 WITH THE HEAT INDEX NEAR 100, IT WILL TURN COOLER AND LESS HUMID AGAIN AT THE END OF THE WEEK. ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY SHOULD FEEL REALLY NICE AS WE HEAD INTO THE WEEKEND. WE GO BACK THE OTHER WAY, WARM AND HUMID WITH SCATTERED
