Anonymous - Any type of sunscreen is allowed in the Parks, so feel free to bring either the lotion or the spray.

AnonymousMarch 11 2020

I saw toward the top that sunscreen was allowed into the parks, but I wanted to know if it was the lotion kind or the spray that was permitted.

Nik- If the oils are in glass containers, then they wouldn't be allowed in Disneyland. We suggest putting them in plastic containers if you want a better chance of being able to bring them in the Parks. Hope this helps!

NikFebruary 27 2020

Can you bring essential oils? A friend was just there and was told they couldn’t and you throw them out.

Wendy - Oh goodness! What an experience you had! We're so glad you were able to keep your binoculars, even if you weren't able to use them. Thanks for the expert tip!

WendyFebruary 18 2020

I didnt see binoculars on the list of items not allowed but my husband was stopped for having them. He just loves using binoculars. They were very expensive binoculars. Security check wasnt going to let him in. We had travelled by train for the day so had nowhere to put them. No way we're we going to just turn them over. They wouldn't hold them for us. After taking with a supervisor wer were allowed to bring them in only if we promised to not take them out of the backpack. They said it was because of celebrities privacy. Beware. No harm or spying was meant . Just as husband who loves to use binoculars. lol

Maggy - You can bring your custom lightsaber (from Savi's Workshop) back into Disneyland. We recommend a carrying bag simply because it is such a long item and could be cumbersome to carry around all day. Just note that Disney security Cast Members will look in your bag with the lightsaber so have it easily accessible when you go through. Hope this helps!

AnonymousFebruary 01 2020

Can you bring trekking poles to walk with?

MaggyJanuary 31 2020

Hi I have a few questions on bringing lightsabers to the park. Are only kids allowed to bring one in? Does it have to be the foldable toy kind? Or the one we build at Davis workshop can we bring it in a different day to the park? Do I need a special bag for the saber? Sorry for so many questions. I saw a group bring in lightsabers to take pictures and I don't want to be told to leave mine at the car. So just wanted to make sure if I bring a toy one or my build one. Thank you in advance.

Anonymous- Thanks for reading! No, you will not be allowed to bring cigarettes or a lighter past the security check point and into the Resort.

AnonymousSeptember 18 2019

Are we allowed to bring our cigarettes a d lighter into the park. Since the smoking area is near the entrance.....we can leave the park y smoke and come back in.

Keith- Thanks for reading this list! We recommend not bringing the vape with you on the tour bus to the Disneyland Resort. You will not be permitted to bring it into the Resort in your fanny pack. Hope this helps!

KeithAugust 14 2019

So coming from my hotel on a tour bus... I have had no problem bringing my vape with me concealed in a fanny pack and using in designated areas at Knottsberry Farm, Universal Studios Hollywood and SAN Diego Zoo... Obviously I have no problem vaping outside the park, but how and where could possibly keep it? Seems as if they are just making things more difficult for the average tourist, but no problem for locals who come with their own transportation to keep their vape in there!?

Get Away TodayAugust 05 2019

Anonymous- Thanks for reading our blog! You can smoke and/or vape at least 25 feet away from any structures that are located outside the entrance to Disneyland Resort.

AnonymousAugust 05 2019

Where outside of the park can we vape?

Can you take a shuttle from your accommodations to the Disneyland Resort? You are welcome to give us a call at 855-GET-AWAY to see if there's anything we can do to help!

AnonymousJuly 31 2019

I just visited Disneyland this week and brought booster seats in the Uber for 2 reasons: it's California Law and my children are under the weight/age requirement to safely be without one. NOBODY else had one and I saw hundreds of ppl at the Disneyland gate, Uber/Lyft drop off areas etc. I stored mine in the lockers for rent for 2 days and was told today that I'm not allowed to bring them in again and when I asked how I should safely transport my children to Disneyland the guy at the bag check said he didn't know and maybe I could drop them off at a local hotel (that I'm not staying at!) I was so frustrated and he was rude. Now I don't know what to do. We have own day left.

RocioJuly 25 2019

Do I have to bring the insulated water bottles (made of metal) empty into the park or already filled with water ? Thank you for answering my previous question. ??

Get Away TodayJuly 22 2019

Rocio- As long as the water bottles are NOT glass, you are welcome to bring them in to Disneyland. And you can get a free cup of ice water from food vendors throughout the Resort, which you can use to refill your bottles throughout the day.

RocioJuly 19 2019

Suzette- Thanks for asking about wax vape pens. Disney no longer allows vape pens into the resort. You may try contacting Disney directly about this: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/faq/parks/permitted-items/

SuzetteMay 06 2019

Hi Liz- That's a good question. Disney Cast Members will sometimes permit canes with small seats, but it is at their discretion. When it comes to a rollator, the same probably applies. You may want to be prepared to rent a scooter from Disney or another vendor on your trip.

I use a rollator for balance when I have to do a lot of walking or standing. Are they allowed or will I have to rent a scooter?

Anonymous- Since a toy lightsaber is not an actual weapon of destruction, they are typically permitted in the Resort. Especially with the opening of Star Wars Land, we expect you will see a lot more of them than usual!

Can you also bring in a toy lightsaber?

Anonymous- You should be able to bring a Harry Potter wand into Disneyland Resort. Good thinking having it unwrapped and ready for inspection at security! Reusable drinking containers are welcome in the parks as well; don't forget you can ask for complimentary ice at most vendors throughout the park if you want it.

AnonymousApril 03 2019

Two questions we have Harry Potter wands that we are giving as a gift for someone’s party wouldnit be considered a weapon even if it’s unwrapped and boxed up and also can I bring a reusable cup as long as it’s empty?

Get Away TodayApril 03 2019

John- That sounds like an amazing little chair! While it might get through security due to its inconspicuous packaging, it could get confiscated once in the Resort. It's not their size when folded that is an issue; it's concern once it is in use. You can see where lockers are available for rent via this link: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/guest-services/locker-rentals/

JohnApril 02 2019

....and if I can't take those chairs inside, will I have to walk all the way back to my car? Or are there lockers CONVENIENTLY located right by the section that I was get stopped at? Cuz if it would take me about 2 min walk to put it in a locker (so I don't have to walk all the way back to my car), then I would be ok with the risk, I think.

JohnApril 02 2019

My wife and I have two of those Helinox chairs. But they are not "folding" chairs. The chair is put together kind of the way a tent is, by using tony poles. Then material fits over the poles that makes the seat portion of the chair. Google Helinox Chair and see what I mean. The whole chair folds up into a stuff sack, and it's not bigger than a 2-Liter bottle of soda! Maybe even smaller! These are chairs you would take on a backpacking trip because they are so small. And even if you say they aren't allowed, I have a feeling a cast member would look at the chair and not even know what it was inside of the stuff pack! If they questioned it, I could probably say it's a small folding tripod for my camera and I bet they wouldn't even know! But even if I get passed security, and someone sees me sitting in it, like along a parade or something, would it be confiscated? And that's mainly the reason I think it would be nice to have my own chair is mainly for the parades and waiting for them to started. I realize there is tons of seating at Disneyland but not when it comes to watching the street parades, right?

Anonymous - There is only one ride that does not have a space for your bag, and it's Silly Symphony Swings. At that ride, you are allowed to leave your bag at the line to retrieve after riding. Otherwise, all other rides will either have a space for your bag at your seat, or you can have it at your feet.

AnonymousMarch 04 2019

If the ride doesn't have somewhere to put your backpack where do you put it?

Get Away TodayMarch 04 2019

Jillian- There is nothing on the Disneyland website that specifically prohibits makeup being brought into the Resort. However, if when your bag gets checked prior to entering the Resort and it is decided the makeup cannot be brought in, you can rent a locker to keep your makeup in.

JillianFebruary 27 2019

I'm planning on going on water rides and I don't like waterproof makeup so is it possible to bring makeup? I just don't want them to take it away when I arrive at the park.

Get Away TodayFebruary 27 2019

Lexa- If you have the room in the bag you plan to bring into Disneyland, then you can absolutely bring a lightweight, waterproof jacket if you prefer. An umbrella from home is also a great choice. Or, bring a couple of ponchos from the Dollar Store in case one rips, since extras won't take up much room in a bag!

Get Away TodayFebruary 27 2019

Anonymous - There is nothing on the Disneyland website saying makeup cannot be brought into the Resort. It may be a good idea to leave it at the hotel, just in case!

LexaFebruary 27 2019

It's supposed to rain when I'm in Disneyland so I was wondering if there was anything that I could bring that wasn't heavy like a rain coat or an umbrella. A lot of people say to bring ponchos but they rip really easily. Is there anything else I can bring?

Can you bring in lose powder makeup?

Callie- Smaller is better when it comes to bringing backpacks on rides. There are storage pouches on many of the rides for your bag, so thing medium-sized when selecting a bag, and don't overfill it! A good tip is to put as much into velcro pockets on your person as you can, and have a few essentials in the backpack to keep it from being overfilled.

CallieFebruary 26 2019

Do the backpacks permitted on rides have to be a certain size? Also can you wear them on the ride or do you have to put it under the seat in front of you?
