I rarely purchase store-bought salad dressings, because homemade is somuch better. Homemade dressings like this Greek Salad Dressing are easy to make (take less than 5 minutes) and have none of the processed ingredients or preservatives that are found in store-bought salad dressings!

Greek Salad Dressing Recipe: Ingredients & Substitutions
Obviously, I wrote this Greek Dressing recipe the way I think it tastes thebest, however here are some possible substitutions.
- Red wine vinegar.White whine vinegar or balsamic vinegar are possible substitutes.
- Lemon juice.Fresh or bottled lemon juice works well.
- Olive oil.Olive oil is the best tasting oil to use in this recipe. However, you may substitute another neutral oil like avocado oil or canola oil.
- Minced garlic.You can use garlic powder if desired.
- Dijon mustard.Any variety of mustard works well, choose your favorite.
- Sugar. Honey can be used in place of sugar.
- Dried oregano.finely chopped fresh oregano can be used in place of dried oregano.
How to Make Greek Salad Dressing
There are three ways you can make this Greek vinaigrette, and no matter which one you choose it’s super easy and takes less than 5 minutes to throw together.
Ways to Combine Ingredients
- Whisk ingredients together in a small bowl
- Put all dressing ingredients in a mason jar and shake to combine
- Or blend the ingredients together in a blender.
How to Store Greek Salad Dressing
If you won’t be using this greek vinaigrette right away, store it in a glass container with a lid in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks! I have this salad dressing bottle and use it all the time.
I appreciate that it is large enough to hold a batch of dressing, has a secure lid, and that the shape of the bottle (tall and skinny) fits nicely in the door of my refrigerator!However you can store it in a mason jar or another container if you wish!

Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
- 3 Tablespoons olive oil
- ½ teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 2 teaspoons granulated sugar (or honey)
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
